FORUM UPGRADE: Happening tomorrow! - Postponed
Hey all,
Between the hours of 10 and 11 p.m. tomorrow (January 23), the forums will be upgrading to the latest version of phpBB. Things may get a little wonky around here, so I apologize in advance and ask for your patience this weekend while we sort things out.
I know we have our complaints about this BBS, but this was the first suggested solution to some of our security/support issues (as the version we're currently running is no longer supported). The new version makes my life as an admin easier, so let's give it a try and we'll see how we can upgrade from there.
Not only is security improved, but there are a number of handy features I hope you'll all enjoy, like the ability to add attachments to your posts, automatic image thumbnails, topic sorting, and more.
Here's a list of the new features:

Hope you all have a good one! Let me know if you see anything really awry.

There are hundreds of "skins" from which to choose Bernie. Frankly, let the users skin their own.

phpBB 3.x is a heck of a lot better than the previous version. Almost usable.

Hey guys,
The change shouldn't be too massive, but we'll all be learning it together. I'll be checking it out on Sunday to get used to the new stuff so that I make a list of instructions and help out if needed.
Glad you're excited, but don't thank me until it's up and running smoothly. :0)
